Friday Photo – My Cup Runneth Over

Often, this is the way I feel.

My cup runneth over. Life is good. People are amazing.

This week I was inspired by Chris Guillebeau’s post on contentment (five short stories). Actually, it made me cry because I realized that those moments of contentment, those times when you say, “It doesn’t get any better than this,” are the best ever.

I just look up from whatever I’m doing and suddenly realize I’m perfectly content. Nothing needs to be added or taken away. ~ Chris Guillebeau

Nothing needs to be added or taken away. This moment is perfect as it is.

When I picked this image of a fountain at our local art museum to be my eBay auction image for the week, I wondered if there was some connection to Chris’ post and my general feeling at the moment?

I think so. That’s how inspiration works.

On eBay – 5″ x 7″ print, matted to 11″ x 14,” free shipping.

I had one of these moments yesterday evening. The sun was beginning to set, there was a crispness in the air, and my husband was at my side as we took the dogs for a walk. As always they are so happy to be outside and moving. We had just returned from a visit with good friends . . . brief, but oh so good, and I did feel such contentment in the moment. I turned to Pat and said “life is good and thanks for you”. His response was “right back at you”. In spite of some of the craziness in life, my cup, too, runneth over and a moment like this is one of the best ever.

Isn’t it great to recognize those moments, Liz? Funny, we had just spent time with good friends too. I think it’s especially important in the craziness to realize that there are those moments too.
